Earl "Pat" FogardJuly 24, 1928 ~ December 5, 2016 (age 88)
Pat, along with his twin sister Patricia, was born to Earl and Sarah Fogard.
Pat studied at St. John’s Parochial School, O’Dea High School and graduated from Seattle University. During college he was in the Naval Reserves. Upon graduation, he served in the Navy during the Korean War spending 2 years at the Naval Station Sangley Point in the Philippines.
In 1952 he married Patricia Chamberlin. They have 6 great kids!! Four boys – Steve, Doug, Tom, and Ed and two Daughters – Jan and Kim. The family had a summer cabin on Vashon Island where they lived Memorial Day through Labor Day. They enjoyed fishing, Swimming, Clamming, boating, and beach fires. Many happy memories!
Pat helped to organize the Seattle University Graduates Club, which started the Seafair Clowns. He served as their president and was an active clown for several years. Pat was a member of the Washington Athletics Club. He was there many times a week, playing handball and swimming. He and Patti belonged to the W.A.C. Blue Chip Dance Club. Pat was a very good dancer.
Learning to play golf as a teenager, he always loved the game. In Seattle he belonged to Sand Point Golf & Country Club. He joined Sunland Golf and Country Club as a non-resident member before he retired from Johnson & Higgins where he was an insurance broker for 35 years. Upon retiring he built a home in Sunland and enjoyed having his golf cart in the garage. Pat also enjoyed fishing and camping, owning both a boat and a trailer for several years.
Pat is survived by his wife Patti; son Steve Fogard of Seattle and granddaughters Teresa and Sara Fogard of Tacoma; Doug Fogard and his wife Janene of Lake Forest Park and grandson Max; Janet Green and her husband Mark of Sherwood, OR and grandson Austin Green, granddaughter Brittney Green and granddaughter Chelsea Gallagher and her husband Ben and great-grandson Cooper Gallagher; son Tom Fogard and his wife Geng and grandson Jeffrey Li of Houston, TX; sons Ed Fogard of Shoreline; Daughter Kim Hall and her husband Mitch of Rotterdam, Netherlands.
