Gerald "Jerry" Dean Lannue

June 6, 1929 ~ February 7, 2018 (age 88)


Gerald Lannue of Sequim, passed away February 7, 2018.
Jerry was born July 6, 1929, to Jule and Edith Lannue in Lyons, Kansas.
Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from July 1948 to June 1952. During this time he was stationed in Guam.

Jerry moved to San Diego in 1957. He worked at General Dynamics as a material test engineer, that is where they made the Atlas Missile. This Missile put John Glenn into space. While at General Dynamics, Jerry met the Friendship 7 Astronauts. John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schara, Guss Grissom, Alan White.

In 1961, Jerry married Mary Pat Loiselle. They had two boys, Lawrence and Christopher, and one daughter, Mary Eileen.

Jerry was a welding metallurgist at FMC Corporation in Minneapolis Minnesota for 22 years.

The Naval Defense was their primary contractor. Here they built the Trident Missile launch tubes.

Jerry married Carmen Thoresen on February 2, 1986.

After Jerry retired, Jerry and Carmen moved to Sequim at the end of 1989. On February 2, 2018, Jerry and Carmen were married for 32 years.

Jerry leaves behind his wife, Carmen; two sons, Lawrence and Christopher; a daughter Mary Eileen; and two stepsons, Craig and Richard Thoresen. Jerry also leaves behind six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jerry will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A service was held at Dungeness Cemetery on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
