Suzanne Grace Brown

October 29, 1934 ~ June 4, 2017 (age 82)

Suzanne Grace Brown age 82 went to her heavenly home on June 4th, 2017.  She was born in Bismark, North Dakota to George and Grace Bashara on October 29th, 1934. She was the only child and felt she was blessed to have a happy child-hood. She was very proud of her Syrian heritage. Attending school was very enjoyable for her.  At the age of five she started taking piano lessons.  Music was a big part of Suzanne’s life.  She had a passion for music and singing. She played music and sang for many a choir from the time she was in high school and it became a lifelong passion.

They moved from North Dakota to the desert of California where she began the 6th grade. After several years she returned to North Dakota where she graduated from High School with honors.  In school English was her favorite subject.  She had a gift for writing poetry and composed songs.

She became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

She moved to Billings, MT where she met her first husband, Charles (Todd) Shandy.  They were married at the young age of nineteen years old.  They had three daughters, Kathleen, Jeanne, and Christine.  The marriage ended in divorce and she was remarried to Herman Woehl.  They had a son, Timothy John Woehl.               She became a single mother and raised four children with their maternal grandmother Grace.  They lived in Helena, the Capital of Montana where Suzanne worked for the State Government in the Department of Health.

She met the love of her life Ronald K Brown and they married in March of 1976.  Ron was the Director for DSHS.  They retired in 1988 and happily settled in Port Angeles in their country home.  Their home had a beautiful view of the Olympic Mountains.  Family would come over on the Ferry to enjoy their company and the view, weather permitting of course.  Suzanne and Ron certainly loved their kitties and always had two of them.  They were very active in the LDS church.

Suzanne Brown is survived by her daughter Christine Flanigan and son-in-law Mark and daughters Kathleen Shandy and Jeanne Darling.
